MAM Summer Fly-in - Saturday, August 11th 8am-3pm

The Military Aviation Museum is excited to announce the first annual MAM Summer Fly-In at the Virginia Beach Airport! We invite all aircraft and their pilots to join us from 8am-3pm on Saturday, August 11th 2018. Come join us for a tour of the museum, food trucks and comradery. Admission is free for those flying in; donations are always welcome.

This is a one day event, no overnight stays. The Virginia Beach Airport is not a controlled field and does not have fuel for sale. Please follow all applicable FAA regulations concerning uncontrolled airport operations.

As a private, VFR, Day-only field, normally the Virginia Beach Airport is not open to transient traffic. However, during the upcoming MAM Summer Fly-In event, the airport will be open to single engine propeller and light twin aircraft for August 11th only. You may arrive any time on Saturday after 8:00 am. The airspace will be busy so monitor Unicom 122.9 carefully. The Unicom frequency is 122.9 and AWOS is 119.92 or by phone at (757) 204-2683. The runways are 11 & 29, 5000′ long, and 200 feet wide turf in good condition. All take off and landings are at the owner’s own risk. There is no lighting and after dark operations are prohibited. All traffic patterns are to the South to avoid noise complaints. Visiting aircraft will be marshaled for parking onto the re-enactor field. You will need to bring your own chocks or tie down stakes if needed.
