2018 Biplanes & Brews Airshow
Join us October 6th & 7th 2018 for our new Biplanes & Brews Airshow!
About The Airshow
Looking for an event to kick off Fall?
Biplanes and Brews is a unique airshow, pairing together beer and aviation history. While the whole family watches as World War I aircraft fly above, those who are of age can select from 20 craft beers on tap, brewed by some of our favorite Virginia Breweries:
- Pleasure House Brewing
- Reaver Beach Brewing Co.
- Stone Brewing
- Reason Beer
- Blue Mountain Brewery
- Pale Fire Brewing Company
- Parkway Brewing Company
Come out and commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the end of World War I with performances by Theresa Eaman, The Manhattan Dolls, Grace Street Seven and Damian Blake: Charlie Chaplin Impersonator!
Want to take to the skies, yourself? Biplanes rides are available to purchase!
Free on-site parking is available for this event. Tickets are available online at an early-bird rate through September 30:
- Single day tickets with beer tastings are available for $43 or $60 for weekend admission, and includes a commemorative tasting glass and twelve (12) 4 oz. pourings.
- $23 for an adult single-day admission or $40 for an adult weekend admission.
- Youth admission tickets at the early-bird rate are available for $10 for a single day admission and $18 for the weekend.
After September 30, tickets will be sold online and at the door at regular rates.
Get ready for Dawn Patrol!
The Mid-Atlantic Dawn Patrol is a five day event that the Military Aviation Museum has hosted annually since 2011. R/C pilots from around the country and around the world travel to attend. Most years there are around 75 pilots, with over 230 planes, ranging from small “foamies” all the way up to half-scale monsters. Many of the Word War One radio control planes are one-third scale, with wingspans of over ten feet. There are typically even some ½ scale models, with wing spans ranging from 12 to over 20-feet!
In contrast with the limited flight operations conducted by the Military Aviation Museum’s veteran aircraft, the R/C pilots are able to demonstrate the full potential of these ancient designs by engaging in aerial dogfights, and exciting close-calls.
Sorry, Service animals only.
