Allan Harris

Allan B. Harris, Sr. was educated in the Detroit Public School system where he excelled in the classroom at Detroit Western High School. Upon his graduation he accepted both basketball and academic scholarships to Siena Heights College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1990. In 2008 Coach Harris was inducted into the Siena Heights University’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Following his collegiate playing days Coach Harris was selected to play professional basketball in the European Basketball Association in Madrid, Spain where he would play the next four seasons. He received his Master’s degree from Cambridge College in January 2006, and his advanced degree in Curriculum & Instruction/Educational Administration in 2008 also from Cambridge College and has been serving as an educator in Chesapeake City Schools since 2010. Allan enjoys spending his summers working with various camps to help enhance students interest in Math and Science, as well as STEM academies. Most recently, Allan has gained a lot of interest in aviation from spending valuable time this past summer with the Virginia Beach Aviation Museum. Allan currently resides in Elizabeth City, NC with his wife Josie Wills Harris. Together they have four children: Ariel, Allan Jr., Alexis, and Aaron.
