Military Aviation Museum - Virginia Warbird Weekend

Step Back in Time!

We invite you to join us at the Military Aviation Museum as we bring a WWII Airfield to life all around you! This will be our first Airshow event of 2021, and we are excited to welcome everyone back to the 130-acre grounds of the Virginia Beach Airport!

A squadron of vintage military aircraft from around the world will be coming together for a weekend of demonstrations, aircraft rides and other exciting activities on June 19 and 20. This safe, socially distant, outdoor event will be packed with family fun for all!

Pilots

Enjoy 1940s-style entertainers along the flight line as you watch an unrivaled collection of Military Aircraft in action! This year our special focus is on celebrating the special connection between our Hampton Roads community and Naval Aviation. Guests will be able to enjoy demonstrations of some of WWII’s most famous fighters and bombers. Flights will also include aircraft designs from over 100 years ago, at the birth of Naval Aviation!

We are still working to finalize the schedule, and will be announcing the participating aircraft in the lead up to the show. The show will feature many fan-favorites from our collection, but there will also be some surprise participants joining us! Our Museum Educators are working tirelessly to put together a special Aviation Discovery Zone for families!

Additional Information

World War II and Korean War Veterans and one guest receive free admission, special parking, & seating in a designated veterans area. (Preregistration is requested! Click Here)

Virginia Warbird Weekend is a two-day WWII Living History event. The Weekend will include cockpit tours of historic aircraft, period weapons demonstrations, aircraft rides (at additional cost) and of course flying demonstrations! Guests are encouraged to come in period clothing for a truly immersive experience!

The Virginia Warbird Weekend is not your traditional airshow! Flying demonstrations will run throughout the day.

Don’t see your favorite airplane on the schedule? Not to worry, we will continue to announce aircraft and their planned performance times as we prepare for the show. Please remember that aircraft may be substituted without notice due to mechanical or weather related issues.
